Requesting Prescriptions

Requesting prescriptions using one of many ways

MedAdvisor Repeat Prescription App

Graham Young Pharmacy is now using the MedAdvisor repeat prescription app, so why not save time by ordering medication from your phone?

Stay in control of your medication by keeping track of your orders and medication supply. Keep your medication profile in sync with your GP record by creating an account using NHS login.

The App will also let you know when your medication has been dispensed and ready for you to pick up.

Once registered, simply download the app from the App Store or Google Play and start placing orders.

Through the app you can order medication for yourself, children, elderly relatives, and other family members all in one place from your phone. Just ask the pharmacy team to link people you care for to your account.

The MedAdvisor app simplifies ordering NHS prescriptions and can remind you when to take your medicines. MedAdvisor remembers so that you don’t have to. For more information, call the pharmacy team on 01733 554778.

How does it work when you order using the MedAdvisor App?

Order your medication using the App.

If you do not have more issues left from the batch, The App will request the medication from your GP Surgery. The GP will process and request and as soon as they have issued the medication, we receive notification so we dispense your medication. The App keeps track of the journey and keeps you informed so you know exactly what is happening to your request.

If you have existing issues left from your batch prescription, the App recognises this and your request will arrive at the the Pharmacy for us to dispense your medication.

Either way, we will send you a text when the medicine is ready for you to collect.

Logging in

If you register with the web app link or use the pharmacy QR code, you must then download the app from the App Store or Google Play.

All patients are encouraged to use NHS login when registering for the app and you should use the “Continue with NHS login” button going forward to log in.

Patient benefits of using the MedAdvisor App with NHS login:

  • Your repeat medication list will be synced with GP’s clinical software so the medication will be automatically updated if your prescription changes.
  • Quicker processing of repeat prescriptions as the request goes directly into the GP clinical software rather than in the form of an email which then has to be manually transferred by GP staff meaning one less step before the prescription is authorised and sent to the pharmacy.
  • Once the item has been prescribed by the GP, the order status shown in the MedAdvisor app will be updated to “Prescribed”. You will then know we have your prescription and just need to wait for the “Ready to collect” notification from the Pharmacy – No more phone calls required to check if and when to collect the prescription.
  • If your ordered item is rejected by the GP, for example, because it is not yet due, or a GP review is required, you will see an in-app error message. This informs you that you may need to contact your GP to resolve the issue, for example, explain that you are going on holiday and need to request earlier than normal or book a GP review.
  • You can can use your existing NHS login details (if you already have one), so that you have one less password to manage.
  • You can use NHS login to access many health and care websites, apps and services (visit NHS website for further information).

SystmOnline

Almost all the surgeries and Pharmacies in Peterborough require you to request your prescription with them directly. When you request your prescription using SystmOnline login, it always goes to your GP (even when we have batch issues available) – once they have issued the prescription, we will be able to access it and when it has been dispensed, we can send you a free SMS text message, so you will know when your prescription is ready. No more waiting at home all day for a delivery or multiple trips to the pharmacy.

If your surgery uses the System One software, and you have been given a login and password, then you can order your repeat prescription by clicking on the button below.

Over the phone

We understand that not everyone can use technology. We are still accepting your request over the phone, however we are very happy to help set you up with the Apps so you do not have to join phone queues.

By Email

You can use our secure email to request your prescription, please send any requests to [email protected], including your name, address, date of birth and contact number.
